Anna Swedén is Arctic 5's flutist and co-founder.
Through her expressive and warm musicianship her flute playing is a part of the quintets foundation.
Her creative and versatile approach to explore the art of music and performance through the quintet form is one of the things that marks her as a player.
Anna studied at the Pitea School of music and at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Her teachers has been Associate Professor Sven-Erik Sandlund, Sara Hammarström (Norrbotten Neo) and Prof. Tobias Carron amongst others. Anna is also a skilled educator and a very cherished teacher among her flute students.
Currently she is enrolled in the Woodwind quintet in residence program at Montclair State University and studies with Janet Arms.
She made her American debut in Carnegie Hall 2014 with the Swedish National Youth Orchestra. She has also performed in venues around the globe, for example The Berlin Philarhmonie, Berwaldhallen and Chicago Symphony Hall. She also played with Vasteras Sinfonietta, The German-Scandinavian youth orchestra, The Montclair orchestra and the German-Scandinavian Music Week orchestra.
She has also participated in master classes for Cecilie Hasselberg Loken, Amy Porter, Brad Garner and Tom-Otter Andreassen.
